This Privacy Policy describes how Carson Fisher LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the RecordMyBrowser browser extension (the "Service").
Carson Fisher LLC, an Illinois limited liability company, is the data controller for the limited data described in this Policy. You can contact us using the information in Section 15.
Plain Language Summary: We don't access or upload your recordings; only basic account data is collected for paid plans.
We collect only the minimal information necessary to operate the Service and provide paid features.
When you sign up for a paid or registered account, we collect:
You may also provide information when contacting support or updating your account.
This information is collected in aggregate form and does not identify you personally. Aggregated installation and usage statistics are anonymized and cannot be used to identify individual users.
We use the limited information we collect to:
We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for marketing, advertising, or analytics purposes.
Your account information (name, email address, and subscription plan) is securely stored by a managed authentication and database provider located in the United States.
We use authentication and managed database services compliant with major security frameworks (including SOC 2).
Access to your account data is restricted to authorized personnel and used only for account management, billing, and support.
All screen recordings are stored locally on your device using the Origin Private File System (OPFS). Your recordings never leave your device unless you explicitly choose to export or share them.
The extension operates entirely within your browser's sandboxed environment and uses Chrome's built-in storage APIs (including the Origin Private File System) only to save recordings locally on your device.
We implement industry-standard security controls, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access restrictions, and periodic audits.
However, no online service or electronic storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for securing your local recordings and device. We cannot recover or restore deleted recordings.
We use secure third-party service providers to manage user authentication and store account information (such as your name, email address, and plan type). These providers act as our data processors and do not access or use your information beyond providing their hosting and database services.
We may change providers without prior notice, but all will maintain comparable security and privacy standards.
We use Stripe to handle all credit card and payment processing for paid subscriptions. Stripe acts as an independent controller for your payment information. We do not store or have access to your full payment details.

As all recordings are stored locally on your device, there are no international data transfers of your recording content. Any anonymous usage data we collect may be processed in the United States.
We respect Do Not Track (DNT) browser settings and do not track users who have DNT enabled.
